Details

Designed and produced entirely in Italy.

100% Pure Extrafine Unshrinkable Merino Virgin Wool, yarn produced by Tollegno 1900 (Biella).
The term 'virgin' indicates the wool from the fleece shearing, which is absolutely natural, not regenerated and not
recovered from other industrial processes. The Woolmark certification guarantees pure wool
organic virgin.

The jewel details are made of antiqued metal and hand-sewn.

Dolce Vita is a garment designed to be functional and durable. The key to longevity and
resistance is the tight and dense processing of the yarn, which requires a greater quantity of material
before similar mass-market products; in fact, this article boasts the use of 1 kg of
wool per single piece, almost a whole bobbin.

All these details justify its value and make it an unparalleled and timeless garment.

Style

Perfect over a t-shirt or a shirt with an unstructured collar where only the edges can be seen the extremities; can be worn comfortably against the skin, the wool is breathable and does not itch; enveloping and
prestigious even in ordinary home outfits.

Extremely comfortable and versatile, the natural elasticity of wool gives the body total freedom of movement.

History

In medieval times, knights suffered from severe neck irritation due to their chain mail.
Not only was the material extremely uncomfortable, but it prevented him from turning his head quickly in
battle. Thus was born a garment that allowed him to protect his neck from the rough metal and
heavy. Later, in the Elizabethan era, the turtleneck took on a new form, it went from being
a functional garment to a fashionable one, which gave style and elegance. The ruff was a collar
exaggerated, flared outwards; the more the volume and size increased, the more the status was
high.

ORIGIN

This garment is crafted using 100% Italian yarn from Tollegno 1900, a historic wool mill with over a century of expertise in producing premium wool yarns. The yarn used is the iconic Harmony, born from the concept of "in harmony with nature." Tollegno 1900 emphasizes the connection between wool and nature, taking us on a sensory journey through different habitats and creating a virtuous cycle of wellbeing, representing the precious relationship between wool and the natural world. Their approach respects the environment and carefully considers the needs of those who inhabit it, promoting a concept of wellbeing that goes beyond mere materiality.

HOW WE MADE IT

The Harmony yarn used in this cardigan is processed in 2/30 count (meaning 2/30,000), making it a two-ply twisted yarn. This means that each kilogram of yarn contains approximately 15,000 meters of thread. Furthermore, the yarn has a fineness of 12, making it particularly suitable for knitwear that ensures breathability, lightness, and excellent protection from the cold. The combed knitting technique gives the garment a pleasant softness and warmth against the skin, without ever feeling scratchy.

A LONG-LASTING, VALUABLE GARMENT

This article is a piece of exceptional value and durability thanks to the excellence of the yarn used and its meticulous craftsmanship. Each piece requires more than 1 kg of Harmony yarn, while ordinary knitwear typically uses only 300-400 grams. After production, the garment undergoes an initial washing process where it "shrinks," losing approximately 15-18% of its original weight, setting both the fibers and the knitting structure. The result is a perfect sweater characterized by extraordinary fineness, a remarkable quantity of raw materials, and extremely careful workmanship, giving it exceptional longevity.
